Databricks acquires Einblick
The deal will see the Einblick team join Databricks and would support the business in techniques for translating natural language questions into the code, charts and models needed to generate insights.
Databricks, which is headquartered in San Francisco, said that by joining forces with Einblick, the company’s tools could be better integrated with Databricks’ data catalogue and better democratise data.
Einblick was formed four years ago by researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Brown University, whose work explored machine learning, human-computer interaction and natural language processing.
Emanuel Zgraggen, chief executive and co-founder at Einblick, said: “When we founded Einblick, our goal was to empower companies to do more with data, by creating the easiest and most collaborative data platform.
“Today marks a significant milestone as we join forces with Databricks to further our mission. I am thrilled to embark on this new journey with a company whose mission is to simplify and democratise data and AI.”
