CoreLogic looking at sale, strategic alternatives

Financials North America

US— Analytics and outsourcing firm CoreLogic has hired financial advisors to explore options to improve shareholder value, including a possible sale.

Advisers will work with a committee of independent directors to evaluate the firm’s capital structure and consider possible repurchases of debt and common stock, the disposal of business lines, a sale or merger of the company and other alternatives.

CoreLogic said that since separating from First American Financial Corporation in 2010 it has taken “significant steps to reposition the company and streamline its operating structure”, including divesting its employer and litigation services businesses, the outsourcing of its India operations, the acquisition of RP Data and “aggressive” cost-cutting.

The firm is led by CEO Anand Nallathambi (pictured). Former ACNielsen chief operating officer Frank Martell joined the company yesterday as chief financial officer.
