M&A News North America

US – Digital experience analytics platform Contentsquare has acquired accessibility software company Adapt My Web.

Jigsaw

Adapt My Web is a French assistive technology company founded in 2018, and will be integrated into Contentsquare.

It works by allowing visitors to websites to adjust text size, change contrast and add text-to-speech functions, and also offers accessibility audits and scoring services to ensure digital services are wholly accessible.

Contentsquare will set up an eponymous foundation to increase the availability of accessibility technology, including for universities, schools and in healthcare as part of the deal.

The full terms of the acquisition have not been publicly released.

Earlier this year, Contentsquare completed a $190m Series D funding round led by BlackRock’s private equity partners team. Last year Contentsquare acquired Israel-based experience analytics company Clicktale.

Jonathan Cherki, Founder and CEO at Contentsquare, said: “Today, 1bn people in the world live with some type of disability, including vision, auditive or cognitive impairment, yet 70% of websites are not accessible to them.

“With our reach and research and development resources focused on optimising digital experiences, we will play a major role in ensuring equal access to digital content worldwide.”

Marion Ranvier, chief executive of Adapt My Web, said: “The goal of Adapt My Web has always been to get people talking about web accessibility and to help change the internet for the better for all people, regardless of their ability.

“With the full power of Contentsquare behind us, we are now able to take this mission to the next level, putting web accessibility at the top of the agenda for many of the world’s biggest brands.”
