US — Jon Cohen has been appointed vice-president of research at Pew Research.
The former general manager and polling director of The Washington Post’s Capital Insight will join Pew Research president Alan Murray and vice-president Elizabeth Gross in sharing management responsibility.
In addition, Paul Taylor moves to executive vice-president special projects while Amy Mitchell becomes director of journalism research and Mark Lopez becomes director of Hispanic Research.
Murray said: “[Cohen] is widely respected in the world of survey research, has deep understanding of journalism, has experience in the new digital technologies that are driving changes in the way we conduct and disseminate our research, and has an entrepreneurial spirit that will prove useful as we forge new paths.”
