AI News Technology UK

UK – AI insight platform Chattermill has raised $8m in Series A funding in a round led by DN Capital, Ventech and btov Partners.

The company will use the investment to expand its offices in London and Berlin, as well as recruiting more engineers, data scientists, enterprise sales and marketing staff.

Chattermill was founded in 2015 and uses neural networks to analyse customer feedback data and provide companies insights on customer experience. Clients include Uber, Skyscanner and Deliveroo.

Aji Ghose, formerly head of research and analytics at Sky, joined the company as vice-president of data and research in October last year.

Also participating in the investment round were Silicon Valley Bank and angels including Matt Price, senior vice-president at Zendesk, and Nilan Peiris, vice-president growth at Transferwise – who became a customer of Chattermill in 2017. Existing investors Entrepreneur First, Avonmore Developments and 2be.lu also joined the round.

Price will join the company’s board as a non-executive director.

Mikhail Dubov, chief executive and co-founder of Chattermill, said: “Our mission is to help every business become truly customer-focused. Every decision made at every level of the organisation should be taken with the customer in mind if teams want to win in today’s experience economy. This isn’t limited to Customer Experience departments, but should inform everyone across product, operations, marketing, and the leadership team.”
