Ampere Analysis gains investment and makes acquisition

UK – Media data and forecasting firm Ampere Analysis has acquired Polish streaming data and analytics company PlumResearch for an undisclosed amount and received investment from private equity firm Goldenpeak.

Warsaw

The agreement to buy PlumResearch will add the business’ audience measurement capabilities to Ampere Analysis’ market sizing, consumer behaviour and title-level data for the streaming industry.

PlumResearch was set up in 2015 in Warsaw and has a team of around 20 staff. The company operates in more than 75 markets worldwide, and has been scaled with support from its first investor Tar Heel Capital Pathfinder.

Lukasz Jeziorski, founder and chief executive officer at PlumResearch, said: “From the outset, we saw a strong alignment between PlumResearch and Ampere Analysis in both our approach to innovation and our ambition for the future of media analytics.

“Together, we bring complementary strengths in content analytics, KPI measurement and audience-level data, creating significant opportunities for clients and the wider business.”

The acquisition follows the securing of a majority investment in Ampere Analysis for an undisclosed amount from Goldenpeak, the first institutional investor in the company.

The investment will focus on growth initiatives, including the purchase of PlumResearch, with Ampere Analysis looking at both organic growth and targeted mergers and acquisitions.

Mark Williams, founder and managing partner at Goldenpeak, said: “This strategic investment sits firmly within Goldenpeak’s investment focus.

“Ampere Analysis is a founder-led business with a differentiated product, strong market reputation and sustained top-line performance. The management team is ambitious and innovative, and we look forward to partnering with them to support the next phase of development.”

Dan Stevenson, managing director at Ampere Analysis, said: “This partnership marks a new chapter for Ampere Analysis. With Goldenpeak’s backing, we have an opportunity to accelerate our growth ambitions and strengthen our position as a leading data and analytics platform for the global media industry.”
