Datascension sees gross profit rocket but revenue decline

US— MR and data collection outsourcing firm Datascension has reported a huge rise in gross profit for the second quarter of 2009, but a double-digit decline in revenue.

Sales were down 18.7% to $3.8m from $4.6m. Gross profit was up 178% to $770,000 while net income was $201,434 compared to a loss of $673,891 last year.

Chairman and CEO Lou Persico said: “We are working through the recession by aggressively controlling costs and driving efficiencies through our operations while continuing to invest for future growth.

“While we are not immune to the effects of the economy, I am confident in the strength of our business portfolio and soundness of our approach.”
