WPP acquires AI company
Satalia was formed in 2008 in the UK and builds AI tools to help companies improve efficiency and develop business strategy.
As part of the acquisition by WPP, Daniel Hulme, chief executive and founder of Satalia, will become chief AI officer at WPP in addition to his role at Satalia.
In his WPP position, Hulme will promote AI capabilities across the company and help develop WPP’s AI strategy and products.
WPP formerly owned Kantar, and sold its 60% stake in the company to Bain Capital in 2019. WPP reported revenue of £6.1bn in the first six months of 2021, up 9.8% from the first half of 2020.
Mark Read (pictured), chief executive at WPP, said: “Advances in technology are revolutionising how people live, work and shop, how brands go to market, and how products and services are delivered.
“I’m delighted to welcome Daniel and the Satalia team to WPP.”
