Webedia buys West World Media

FRANCE — Digital media group Webedia has continued its US expansion with the acquisition of cinema data syndication West World Media.

West World Media operates several entertainment industry databases, including its show times platform CinemaSource (covering 80 countries in 24 languages) and live-event listing service EventSource.

With this transaction, the Webedia group reinforces its US presence, where it currently employs more than 100 professionals in Los Angeles, New York, and Ridgefield, Conn.

It follows Webedia’s April 2015 acquisition of BoxOffice Media and the October 2015 capital investment in MoviePilot.com, one of the leading cinema websites in the US.
