We Work With Data closes as new company launches

UK – Market research data analysis and collection firm We Work With Data has closed five months after the death of its managing director Steve Taylor, with its staff establishing a new company, w3dL.

Taylor, who co-founded We Work With Data in 2009, died suddenly in January. The company has continued operating since, but has now closed due to what it termed "complex legal issues".

In an email sent to clients, the team said: "During this time the staff, with the help of external advisors, have worked hard to keep the business going. We have continued to provide our clients with top quality market research services, and we have been touched by the level of support our clients have given us."

A new company, w3dL Limited, will offer the same range of services previously offered by We Work With Data, and carry Taylor’s "approach and ethos" forward, according to the statement.

The company’s board of directors comprises Julia Moore, Adrian Golder-Hayes, Keith Miller, Natalka Sokolowski and Bill Fox. The board have all previously worked with Taylor, either as employees or advisors.

Adrian Golder-Hayes, senior research consultant at w3dL, said: "Since the start of the year we have all been shocked by Steve’s death and worked hard through a difficult period to continue the business. After much advice and with input from Steve’s family we came to the conclusion the best way forward was to launch our own new company.

"We now look forward to the future and our plans to grow w3dL. We continue to offer all full range of market research services and are working with associates, such as E-tabs, so that we can offer a truly end to end service."

The company also has a new base, moving from We Work With Data’s office in Folkestone to a premises in Ashford, Kent.
