Burgess joins Watermelon from Qualtrics where he led the research services advisory team for the Asia-Pacific and Japan region. Prior to that, he held director level roles at Ipsos CX and Nielsen IQ.

Watermelon has been operating in Australia since 2015, delivering VoC programmes across the banking and FMCG sectors.

Burgess will oversee the company’s operations, growth strategy and client relationships across the region.

Watermelon recently launched a piece of proprietary customer experience software, Canvas.

Mark Squires, chief executive at Watermelon, said: “This strategic move signals our commitment to expanding Watermelon’s presence in Australia. Bringing Sam on board will be instrumental in helping to drive the next phase of our growth.

“With his experience of the local market, we know Sam is the perfect person to help us achieve our goal of expanding Canvas globally.”
