The FA insights team reorganises
The new structure for the research and insights team sees it expand into two key strands – behavioural insight and business analytics – reflecting The FA’s desire to make more evidence-based decisions from its internal data.
Antrobus (pictured) will oversee both these strands with Rohini Sarkar promoted to behavioural insight lead and Phil Roughsedge promoted to insight manager, reporting to Sarkar. Hannah Pattinson joins the BI team as a research officer.
The business analytics lead has yet to be announced but Andreas Yiannakou joins that team as a data scientist.
Antrobus said there were still some changes to be made in terms of areas of responsibility.
He said: "The provision and influence of insight at The FA has grown significantly over the past five seasons. This latest iteration of the team puts us in great shape to harness the ever increasing size and quality of our internal data sets while acknowledging that with greater analytical insight being delivered, there will be more focus on hearing directly from participants and fans of the game.
"Our new structure reflects where I see the wider industry heading, an ever increasing blend of ‘hard’ analytics and greater understanding of the behaviour that drives that data to deliver greater participant and fan experiences in football."
