UK – Marketing services group System1 is launching an ad ratings subscription service for clients as the company’s revenues recover at a slower rate than expected.
Users of the service will be able to access System1’s database of adverts broadcast in the UK and US, ranked on effectiveness measures, and compare their ads with those of competitors. According to the company, the service will broaden the use of its ‘core intellectual property'.
System1 has invested £1.8m to date in the service, with further investment planned in the second half of the financial year. The move to launch a new offer follows disappointing results for the company, which previously reported an 18% drop in revenue for the year to 31 March 2018, with pre-tax profits falling 68% to £1.99m.
In a trading update, System1 said its current business revenues are ‘stabilising’ at a slower rate than anticipated. Outside of the new service, the company is expecting to see a return to growth in operating profits as a result of reducing its overheads, and expects to see revenues from the new service towards the end of the 2018 financial year.
Its interim results will be published after the end of its H1 period, on 30 September.
