SINGAPORE/UK – Marketing research and effectiveness company, System1 Research, has appointed Lester Sualog as managing director, APAC.
Sualog (pictured) was previously client solutions director at Skim Asia; he has also been managing director of Fuld Omniscope and worked at Kantar TNS.
Founder and CEO John Kearon said: “With Lester’s experience in brand growth, strategy and market research, he is the ideal candidate to help drive System1’s growth in APAC.”
The appointment announcement came as System 1 reported flat results with revenue of £26.9m, for the year to 31 March 2019. Its gross profit was £22.05m with profit after tax at £1.26m. Underlying profit before tax increased 80% on the previous year to £3.7m.
Kearon said the results “might not be spectacular” but that they were “significant” citing 7% growth in Ad Testing and 23% increase in the number of clients.
The company made a £3m investment in AdRatings, its ad effectiveness service.
Kearon added: “The previous year, our first as System1, was a painful one, but with the support of our future-focused investors and dedicated staff, we held our nerve and pushed on with the work needed to turn our intellectual leadership into a scalable business, capable of becoming the industry leader over time.”
