Paul Ahern has been appointed as chief growth officer at the company, with responsibility for growth to support international expansion. Ahern was the first investor in Streetbees, and joins the company from Parthenon EY, where he led London-based private equity work.

Tugce Bulut, chief executive and co-founder of Streetbees, said: “Paul brings immense talents in building teams, relationships, and sales, and has both strong commercial instincts and a track record in quickly establishing trust with clients. I am confident that he will add a new dimension to the business and help us scale further and faster.”

Gideon Summerfield has also joined Streetbees, taking up the role of vice-president of product. Formerly global head of product at Hive, Summerfield led the launch of the company’s smart thermostat in the US and Europe.

Additionally, Dan Medlock has been appointed as finance director, joining from BT, where he headed up the finance team for the UK cybersecurity division.

The hires follow the company’s recent Series A investment of $12m, led by Atomico. The Streetbees app has a million users (‘bees’) worldwide, sharing moments from their lives using pictures, text and video. The company’s clients include Unilever and PepsiCo.

Oliver May, chief operating officer and co-founder, said: “Paul, Gideon and Dan are joining the team at a crucial time, when we are focused on taking Streetbees to the next level. They will play an essential part in helping us meet our goal of becoming the world’s intelligence platform.”
