INDIA— Knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) firm Pipal Research has been bought by Standard & Poor’s Crisil in a deal worth US$12.75m.
Pipal is based in Chicago and provides business research and investment research services. Its marketing analytics offering includes customer segmentation, web analytics and marketing optimisation, as well as data and text mining and statistical data analysis.
It operates a custom research business called PipalAnswers.
Crisil already owns a KPO business, Irevna. Roopa Kudva, CEO of Crisil, said the acquisition of Pipal “enables us to further strengthen our leadership position in the high-end KPO space”.
