Schlesinger Group buys Active Research

The focus group facility and data collection business will rebrand from Active Research to Schmiedl Marktforschung Hamburg. Its current managing director, Thomas Oellrich (pictured), will remain at the helm.

It means the business now has a Hamburg location in addition to its teams in Munich, Berlin and Frankfurt.

Stephan Schmid, managing director, Schmiedl Marktforschung said: "Active Research has been a trusted partner for many years.  We are delighted to welcome this talented team to our group.”

Oellrich added that the deal would "allow us to build on our business of data collection by immediately expanding our range of services and leveraging the resources and the global reach of Schlesinger Group.”  

This deal follows its acquisition last year of Spanish fieldwork agency BDI Research.
