S4 Capital said that the merger, which was for an undisclosed fee, would be the “first step towards building a third practice area” focused on technology services.

Media.Monks became part of S4 Capital in July 2018. Media.Monks has also completed acquisitions this year of creative, technology and media agency Decoded Advertising, Shanghai-based creative agency Tomorrow, Stuttgart-based automotive specialist Staud Studios, and Toronto-based design and experience agency Jam3.

Zemoga specialises in product design, engineering and delivery services, and was founded in Colombia in 2002.

The company has offices in the US cities New York, Los Angeles and Wilton, and the Colombian cities of Bogota, Cali, Medellin and Baranqilla.

DJ Edgerton, chief executive and founder of Zemoga, said: “Merging with a powerhouse like Media.Monks is a natural next step in the evolution of Zemoga as our complementary service offerings, client portfolios and our common approach to disrupting the industry make for an exciting future all round.”

Martin Sorrell (pictured), executive chairman of S4 Capital, said: “We are delighted to welcome DJ and his colleagues to the S4 Capital family. Entry into the technology services sector through Zemoga gives us the full capability to talk to the chief technology or information officer.”

Wesley ter Haar, co-founder of Media.Monks and executive director of S4 Capital, said: “Zemoga’s ability to marry deep engineering skills across multiple platforms, at enterprise scale, coupled with best-in-class experience is a perfect fit.”
