“But the impact we have goes beyond cold, hard economics. This year’s entries reflect the hard work across the sector to put inclusion and sustainability are at the heart of research projects and ensure that we’re making a difference for real people and communities.
“This year has been one of particular political and economic unpredictability. There have been plenty of obstacles we’ve had to face as a sector. This year’s MRS Awards are a clear indicator that we’re ready to continue grappling with these challenges next year and raise the already high bar we set ourselves. 2025 is sure to present major opportunities for research to help answer society’s biggest questions – and I’m excited to see what the sector delivers next.”
