Rentrak buys Media Salvation

M&A North America

US— Media measurement firm Rentrak has bought Media Salvation, which provides sales and financial reporting systems to studios and film companies.

Rentrak says the acquisition will allow it to integrate its existing measurement products with the financial and distribution systems used by TV networks and studios for their physical and electronic releases.

The buy also adds an unnamed “major studio” to Rentrak’s roster of clients for its revenue share, digital download and mobile measurement services.

As part of the deal, Media Salvation’s founder David Cortese joins Rentrak as senior vice president of digital studio services.
