US— Publicis Group has taken a 51% stake in New York-based social media agency Big Fuel with an option to acquire the whole company from 2014.
Big Fuel’s services range from research, measurement and analytics, through to campaign creative and content distribution. The firm will be aligned within Publicis’ Vivaki brand, where it will serve as a strategic social media ‘centre’ for the agencies Digitas, Razorfish, Starcom MediaVest Group and Zenith Optimedia.
Big Fuel CEO Jon Bond (pictured) said: “Now that social media is revolutionising global marketing, this partnership gives the agency and its clients scale, impact and a network around the world.”
