UK — Research and consulting firm Populus has appointed former YouGov man James Starkie to the new role of business development manager.

Starkie (pictured) will work in all areas of the business, including stakeholder, reputation and customer research.

His appointment comes as the company builds its consumer research division after winning contracts from the likes of Thames Water, BT and Phones4U.

Before joining Populus, Starkie was head of brand, PR and marketing agencies at Canadean Consumer and worked for YouGov in the UK, Dubai and across the Middle East.

Populus MD Michael Simmons said: “James brings excellent contacts and experience in the fields of PR and customer research, together with an enthusiasm to get out and sell the increasingly wide range of research and consulting services we provide to a growing list of clients.”
