AUSTRALIA – Public affairs intelligence platform PollStream has appointed former PureSpectrum executive Anthony O’Brien as head of sales ahead of its launch in Australia.

The business, co-founded by political scientist Michael Turner and software architect Zishan Rajan, offers an insight platform for corporate and public affairs teams.

O'Brien will build and lead the sales function in Australia, which PollStream is launching in first, selling to corporate and public affairs, government relations, policy and communications teams.

He previously spent five years at PureSpectrum, and prior to that was at Cint.

Michael Turner, co-founder and chief executive of PollStream, said: “Anthony has spent more than a decade on the supply side of this industry, which means he understands the thing our entire platform rests on.

“Anyone can now generate an answer quickly. Very few can show you where it came from. Hiring someone who knows the sample process deeply, rather than someone who can only sell around it, was a deliberate decision.”

PollStream’s proprietary data lake covers 125 markets and 50 tracked topics. It allows public affairs professionals to field surveys, ask questions of the data via an AI-based tool, and monitor issues across news and other media sources.

The company is headquartered in London with a presence in Sydney and Brisbane, and is planning to launch in New Zealand and the United Kingdom after Australia.
