The latest promotions and appointments in the market research and consumer insight industry. This week: ICM Direct, Kadence International, Firefish, NRS, Conquest, WorldOne, Adept, Research Now and more.

PAT McCARTHY has joined ICM Direct in the UK as the agency’s new head of online. He joins from Research Now, where he held the role of client development director, and has previously had spells with NOP and Ipsos Mori.

In the UK Firefish has added ten new members of staff to its ranks. They are: qualitative director JOSIE WALDEN, who has joined from Rosenblatt Qualitative Research, quant associate director SARA JONES who has joined from YouGov, research managers MAURICIO SILVEYRA who was last at Flamingo, KATIE HOLT who has joined from Truth Consulting and RORY O’ROURKE who has arrived from Rosenblatt. The firm has hired another former Rosenblatt employee in the shape of senior research executive LAURA PAMMENT and four new research executives: KAOI YAMAMOTO, GREG JACOBS, STEVE MCMINN and NELISE DOORNENBAL.

DAPHNA KARGER has been appointed client services account manager at the National Readership Survey in the UK. She was formerly a client service business analyst at Donovan Data Systems.

Kadence International has added insight analyst JEREMIAH RODRIGUEZ and insight executives KATE SHAFIR and BENJAMIN DAIGLE to its US operation. Shafir and Rodriguez are recent graduates while Daigle was last working as a a marketing intern.

In Germany, healthcare MR agency WorldOne has hired RHONA HIMMELMANN as business development manager. She was previously at MKT Field & Data.

Healthcare fieldwork firm Adept Field Solutions in the UK has appointed ANDREW STRIPP as senior project manager. He joins the company from Quit, a charity that helps peoplte quit smoking, and also worked for Synovate earlier in his career.

In Germany, Research Now has appointed MARKUS LOCHNER and PATRYCJA REINHART as client development executives. Lochner has worked at TNS Infratest while Reinhart had spells with the same firm and Synovate.

The NPD Group in the US has moved AMY HYLAND from leading its US toys business unit to take charge of its fashion apparel business. Replacing her at the head of the toy division is JULI LENNETT, who joins the company from children’s industry data firm Toys & Kids. DIANE NICHOLSON, who has been heading the beauty business unit for the past decade, has also been given the added responsibility of serving as president of the US fashion footwear and accessories units.

HILARY GAINES has joined Conquest in the UK as a senior director. She previously worked at agencies including Ipsos Mori and Millward Brown in her 20-year career.

Nielsen Catalina Solutions in the US has appointed LESLIE WOOD to the new position of chief research officer. Over the course of her career she has had spells with ABC Television, Procter & Gamble, Media Tryst and her own firm, Leslie Wood Research.

BRAXTON CARTER has joined the board of directors at E-Rewards. He currently holds the position of CFO and vice chairman at MetroPCS Communications.

Red C Research and Marketing in Ireland has promoted CIARA DURKAN to associate director and CIARA REGAN to research manager. Durkan has been with the firm for five years while Regan has served for three.

ESME HOLT has been promoted to research director at HRW Healthcare, after joining the company as a research executive in 2005. The firm has also hired ROB EGERTON, who was previously at Branding Science as an associate director.

Canadian data collection firm AskingCanadians has promoted RAJ MANOCHA from director of sales to vice president.

US cable TV body Canoe Ventures has added six new members to its advisory board. They are VCU Brandcenter director RICK BOYKO, Collins founder BRIAN COLLINS, Hewlett-Packard’s GARY ELLIOTT, AAAA president and CEO NANCY HILL, Kimberly-Clark’s MARK KALINE and the ARF’s TED McCONNELL.
