People on the move

The latest appointments and promotions in the global market research and consumer insight industry. This week: Compete, Intersperience, TNS RI Brazil, Burger King, JD Power, Askia UK, Vision Critical, Digital Radio UK, ORC International, Bellomy Research, MarketShare Partners and the Web Analytics Association.

MARGARET HUNG has been appointed international managing director at Kantar-owned web measurement firm Compete. She joins the company from AOL where she was director of strategic insights.

UK consumer research agency Intersperience has promoted LUCIA HOFFART to international research director and KIIRA HAANPERA to international research manager. Hoffart specialises in cultural studies and Haanpera in social studies. Both have been with the firm for two years.

TNS Research International Brazil has appointed JORGE KODJA as commercial director. Kodja has spent 18 years in the research industry and joins from Support Services Company where he was vice president. Earlier in his career he had spells with TNS InterScience, Indicator GfK and Nielsen.

NATALIA FRANCO has been named executive vice president and global chief marketing officer at Burger King, where she will oversee consumer insights, product innovation and advertising strategies. She was previously vice president for global marketing and innovation for The Coca-Cola Company.

JD Power and Associates has appointed RICHARD MILLARD as senior director of its healthcare practice. Before taking the role Millard was group president of healthcare research at Harris Interactive.

Askia UK has hired MATT LONG as key account manager. Long joins from Merlinco and has also worked at Research Now, NOP and Infocorp during his career.

STEEVAN GLOVER has been appointed senior vice president of sales and marketing director for Europe at Vision Critical. He joins from marketing and communications agency Blueprint Partners.

Digital Radio UK, the body responsible for preparing the country for the digital radio switchover, has appointed JANE OSTLER as marketing and strategy director. She joins from Digital UK where she was a director.

ORC International has hired KEITH McGOWAN as an associate director within its customer strategy team. He has previously worked for TNS and Jones Donald Strategy Partners in Australia.

JOE CUNNINGHAM has been appointed vice president of the social research group at Bellomy Research in the US. He joins the firm from Research Now where he was vice president of client development.

US marketing analytics agency MarketShare Partners has named PETER KELLIS as chief products officer. He was previously senior vice president of global engineering and product management at Vivaki.

The Web Analytics Association has announced its new board of directors and the five officers that will be responsible for driving the organisation’s evolution. The five officers are JIM STERNE (Target Marketing), PETER SANBORN (Microsoft), MATTHEW LANGIE (Omniture), VICKY BROCK (Highland Business Research) and STEPHANE HAMEL (Immeria Consulting Services). Joining them on the board are JUNE DERSHEWITZ (Semphonic), DENNIS MORTENSEN (Yahoo), ANIL BATRA (POP), RACHEL SCOTTO (Sony Pictures Entertainment), ED WU (Dell) and ALEX YODER (Webtrends).
