Omniture reports record second-quarter revenue

US— Analytics software firm Omniture has reported a 22% rise in revenue to a record $87.6m for the second quarter of 2009, up from $71.6m.

Net loss for the period was $4.9m compared to $6.5m in Q2 2008.

Josh James (pictured), Omniture’s CEO and co-founder, said: “Despite a very challenging economy, we delivered solid second-quarter results, which means the Omniture Online Marketing Suite is resonating very well in the marketplace. We believe we have seen some stabilisation in our business as well as the businesses of some of our customers, and we remain committed to the investments that will drive the long-term growth of our business.”

Omniture added more than 150 new customers during the period, including SurveyMonkey.com, 3M, Celebrity Cruises, University Hospitals of Cleveland and YouCompare. The firm said it captured data from a trillion transactions during the quarter.

In its guidance for the third quarter Omniture said it was targeting flat revenues.
