NPD Group expands analytics offering

US— The NPD Group has hired John Deputato as senior vice president for advanced analytics as it looks to expand its offering in the sector.

Deputato (pictured) will lead the firm’s Advanced Analytics suite, which now includes six solution sets based on NPD’s consumer and retail databases combined with the company’s own statistical and modelling techniques. The firm said that the new offerings can be used to uncover growth opportunities, evaluate new product performance, determine pricing, measure the impact of marketing investment and manage assortment.

President and COO Karyn Schoenbart said: “While NPD has offered analytics for many years, we are in a unique position due to our granular and robust databases, and we are upping our game. NPD is committed to growing by providing the best data and applying that data to deliver solutions and measurable business results for manufacturers and retailers.”

  • Meanwhile, NPD has launched a new monthly syndicated study that keeps track of purchases made for children. Adults over the age of 18 will be surveyed about what they buy for children up to the age of 14 in their households.
