HONG KONG — Nielsen’s five-year contract to carry out TV audience measurement in Hong Kong, replacing CSM Media Research, is underway.
The research giant was awarded the contract in March last year. Nielsen has formed a new 2,300-member panel covering 800 households and will add audio signature matching technology to its offering as part of the new deal.
Measurement will be provided for all TV viewing equipment, including portable digital devices and computers. In a statement, industry body Television Broadcasts said: “The industry hopes that the new [system] will be able to reflect the latest trend of media usage and to provide TV rating data that keeps with the times for the television and advertising industry.”
