UK – The board of trustees at grocery industry research and training charity IGD has appointed Patrick Coveney, chief executive of manufacturing company Greencore Group, as its president.
Coveney (pictured) is currently a member of IGD’s policy issues council and will take over from Andrew Higginson as president effective from 1st January 2021.
Prior to joining Greencore, Coveney was managing partner at McKinsey & Company, Ireland. He holds non-executive roles at Irish global nutrition group Glanbia and marketing communications company Core Media.
Susan Barratt, chief executive of IGD, said: “With many years’ industry experience, Patrick is incredibly well respected across the sector. His experiences of private label food manufacturing, alongside his vision and leadership during the challenging times that the industry is facing, will help bring a new perspective to our organisation.”
