M&S hires data and AI leader

Davies joins M&S after spending six years at investment company BlackRock, latterly as head of delivery transformation.
At M&S, he will lead the strategic delivery of key data and AI programmes and will look to align the company’s delivery with emerging trends in data and AI with a view to supporting customer experience.
Davies wrote in a LinkedIn post: “M&S is continuing to scale its data and AI ambitions, and my focus will be on building a strong, predictable delivery capability that helps teams turn great ideas into measurable business impact with clarity, pace, quality and confidence.”
The move follows the retailer’s appointment of Matt McLellan, former chief customer officer at Morrisons, as director of loyalty, effective from 2027.
M&S is increasing its investment in digital and technology. Earlier this year, the company relaunched its customer rewards programme, Sparks, to boost personalisation and customer engagement.
