Morning Consult hires former Maru/Matchbox co-CEO

James (pictured) was formerly co-chief executive officer and chief client officer for North America at Maru/Matchbox.

Before joining Maru/Matchbox, James was president of Kantar’s brand and communications division.

James’ appointment comes as Morning Consult pushes ahead with expansion plans, with the company seeking 64 new staff members.

In June, Morning Consult announced a $70m Series B funding round, valuing the company at a total $1.02bn.

Recent recruits to the company include Mark Trowbridge, former chief revenue officer at InsiderScore, as vice-president, commercial (financial services) and Lynn Potts, former senior vice-president at GfK, as managing director, commercial.
