US – Performance marketing agency Merkle has promoted Michael Komasinski to the role of president of EMEA, replacing Tim Berry.
Komasinski (pictured) has been with Merkle since 2015, where he has held the role of global chief operating officer since the start of 2017, responsible for business performance, capability development, and service delivery in the US and EMEA.
Merkle, part of Dentsu Aegis, is headquartered in Columbia, Maryland. It has been expanding its European presence since 2015, most recently with Dentsu’s acquisition of Dutch agency Oxyma.
Giulio Malegori, chief executive of Dentsu Aegis EMEA, said: “Michael has played a critical role in Merkle’s global expansion. He now brings that experience to EMEA, offering our clients Merkle’s capabilities and helping them transform their brands in the digital economy.”
Komasinski replaces current EMEA president Tim Berry, who joined Merkle in 1997 and has headed up the business in the EMEA region since 2016. Berry will leave the business early in 2018.
David Williams, global chairman and chief executive, said: “We’d like to thank Tim for his commitment and dedication to Merkle over the last 20 years and his leadership of our growth in EMEA to date. He’s been an inspiration to the team, and we wish him all the best for the future.”
