UK – Birmingham-based social research agency MEL Research has promoted Elliot Simmonds to commercial director.

Simmonds (pictured) will become a member the agency’s board of directors and joined MEL Research in 2021, most recently serving as client solutions director.

In his new role, Simmonds will lead the development and implementation of MEL Research’s commercial strategy, including overseeing sales and marketing functions and working closely with the senior leadership team.

Alongside his new role, Simmonds serves as a board trustee at Creswell Crags, a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a member of the Association for Qualitative Research and the Visitor Studies Group.

Simmonds said: “Having been part of the organisation for a number of years, I’ve seen first-hand the dedication, curiosity and integrity that underpin our work.

“I’m excited to keep building on that foundation, strengthening our partnerships, exploring new areas we can support with our expertise.”
