North America People

US— MarketTools has appointed Alex Terry as executive vice president and general manager of its Zoomerang online survey software business.

Terry (pictured) was previously president and CEO of digital media agency NeoEdge Networks and also had a spell with Time Warner where he was vice president and general manager of America Online’s Voice Services division.

Earlier in his career he founded technology firm International ThinkLink, which was acquired by Microsoft.

His task at Zoomerang will be to grow the software’s subscriber base, pursue new opportunities in the market and drive financial results.

MarketTools president and CEO Scott Arnold said: “Alex’s impressive record in growing technology startups into market leaders will extend Zoomerang’s position as an innovator and leader in online surveys.”

As I understand it the sales representatives at Zoomerang are unwilling to complete the Std 204, which is required for all companies doing business with the State of California. The following link provides information from SAM. This form is used for 1099 taxable reporting process. If the company refuses to submit the Std 204 the SAM Manual does allow departments to reduce the invoice for federal withholding; however, the sales staff at Zoomerang stated that they will discontinue our subscription as soon as the payment is not submitted in full. I’m not sure why this is an issue with this particular company but at this point we are unable to move forward with a subscription.
