Malaysian MR expecting growth after ‘tremendous’ first half

MALAYSIA— The new president of the Marketing Research Society of Malaysia, Yazid Jamian, has forecast growth of 5%–7% for the country’s MR industry this year.

Jamian told StarBizWeek that despite caution over 201 he expects the industry to grow after it contracted last year in the midst of the global financial crisis.

He said: “In the first half of this year there has been tremendous growth. There may be a slowdown towards the end of the year as people are still cautious going into 2011, but we project a 5% to 7% growth this year.”
