In this newly created role De Koning (pictured) will report to global chief executive officer and interim chief executive officer for EMEA, Caroline Frankum.
He was previously managing director, Northern Central and Eastern Europe and will now be responsible for developing sales strategy to sustain growth in the region.
Frankum said: “Leon has been at the heart and soul of Lightspeed for the past 11 years. As a true ambassador for embracing challenges, his depth of sales, business development and marketing experience will enable Lightspeed to effectively grow and penetrate new markets.”
