Leger creates AI council

The committee will seek to inform, challenge and guide Leger’s AI-related decisions, and will act as an external advisory body, aiming to make sure any AI initiatives align with best practice.
The committee will be chaired by Jacques Nantel, professor emeritus at HEC Montréal, and will also include Jean-Marc Léger, president and founder at Leger, and Sarah Mottet, vice-president, transformation and AI, at Leger.
Other members of the committee include Maxime Cohen, professor and scale AI chair in data science for retail at McGill University in Canada; Ray Poynter, co-founder at Research Wise AI and founder at NewMR in the UK; Dharmendra Jain, president at Actnable AI in Kenya; and Sarah Mjidou, president and founder at ALNIXIA in Canada.
Mottet said: “Surrounding ourselves with independent experts is essential to fully understand both local and global challenges and making informed decisions.
“This committee will help us structure and optimise our use of AI in a thoughtful, methodical and practical way, while remaining fully aligned with our mission.”
