KPMG Australia launches CMO Advisory

AUSTRALIA – Professional services company KPMG Australia has hired Carmen Bekker as a partner to lead its new specialist division aimed at chief marketing officers (CMOs).

As part of the firm’s Customer, Brand & Marketing Advisory business, Bekker (pictured) is the latest senior addition to the division which launched in June following the acquisition of customer research agency Acuity.

Bekker has more than 20 years experience servicing international brands in London, Europe and Australia. Before joining KPMG, she was management partner and European marketing director for WPP agency J Walter Thomson London. She has also been business director at Saatchi & Saatchi in London and Sydney.

Paul Howes, partner in charge, Customer, Brand & Marketing Advisory, said: "Our rapid growth since we launched our practice has proven there is increasing demand for new approaches in Australia’s marketing landscape. The launch of a new CMO Advisory practice under Carmen will take our business to the next level."
