Korczak and Cooke elected to top Esomar posts
Korczak succeeds Gunilla Broadbent. He has been a member of Esomar since 1987, a council member from 2007 to 2010 and the association’s German representative from 2001 to 2006.
The new president has pledged to pursue a “Triple-C-Approach” – focusing on change, the code of conduct and clients – “which will make Esomar sustainable as a successful association”.
Korczak pipped Sue Nosworthy, European research director for EmSense, to the post of president. She is currently vice president of Esomar but will be replaced in that role by GfK NOP’s global director of online development Mike Cooke.
Association members have also voted in eight new council members:
- Niels Schillewaert, managing partner and director of ForwaR&D Lab, InSites Consulting – Belgium
- Bruno Colin, global managing director of technology and operations, GfK SE – France
- Michael Bendig, business analysis – HIV, oncology, Boehringer Ingelheim – Germany
- Pravin Shekar, founder, The Social Catalyst, and Kreator-in-chief, Krea – India
- Manolo Barberena, president, Pearson – Mexico
- Tatiana Barakshina, research director, Bazis Intelligence Group – Russia
- Dan Foreman, managing director EMEA and APAC, ActiveGroup – UK
- Fred John, senior business leader, intelligence and planning, MasterCard Worldwide – USA
The new council takes office on 1 January.
