UK/US— Kantar Media is setting up a new central research unit for its audience research activities.
The unit will be based in London and led by Antonio Carvalho, who has been promoted to the role of chief research officer for the audiences business.
Carvalho will be responsible for overseeing central activities for research based on people meters and set-top box data. He will also work on developing modeling methods to evaluate multimedia data.
Richard Marks, global CEO of Kantar Media Audiences, said the new central unit “consolidates and emphasises the central role of our research experts and will provide clients with even greater media insight”.
The company also announced it has appointed the former political director of NBC News to lead strategic initiatives for its Campaign Media Analysis Group, which tracks political advertising and media coverage in the US.
Elizabeth Wilner will establish an office in New York for the business, which currently operates from Washington DC.
As well as NBC News, Wilner has worked as deputy political director of ABC News and managing director of The Cook Political Report, which analyses elections.
