UK – The independent body for online ad trading standards, Jicwebs, has changed to a full-time operating limited company to tackle the increasing threats of online ad fraud and brand safety.
As part of this restructure Richard Foan (pictured) – who has been involved with Jicwebs since it was first formed – will take on the new role of executive chairman and will leave media certification company, ABC.
Susan Hansford, who previously worked in business development for Microsoft, has been appointed as senior business development manager and will be responsible for supporting companies to sign up to its certification.
At present, 37 companies have been certified through independent audit with a further 23 signed up to undergo the process. Jicwebs works with other trade bodies: Association of Online Publishers (AOP); Internet Advertising Bureau UK (IAB); Incorporated Society of British Advertisers (Isba); and the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA).
Foan said: “Although we’ve already established a strong base, tackling the issues facing digital advertising requires dedicated resource and full-time attention, which is now feasible with the extra investment and support of the key trade bodies and subscribers.”
