UK – Jules Kendrick has been appointed chief executive of the Joint Industry Committee for Web Standards (Jicwebs), the cross-industry body defining standards and best practice for digital advertising.
The CEO is a newly created role and follows the announced departure of executive chairman, Richard Foan, who established Jicwebs Ltd two years ago.
Kendrick (pictured) joins from Business Insider where she was client director UK & EMEA. She has extensive commercial, technology and media expertise working at Mumsnet.com, Amazon UK, Guardian & Observer and IDG across her career.
Jicwebs has grown significantly over the past year, and now has more than 130 organisations signed up. It partners with the Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG) in the US and is adopting the TAG ‘Certified Against Fraud’ programme from 1st January 2019.
Paul Bainsfair, director general of the IPA, said: “Jicwebs has a vital role to play in delivering the transparency that forms the foundation of brand trust in the digital advertising market. I am certain Jules is the right person to lead Jicwebs and to continue to deliver the confidence in the UK’s digital marketplace that advertisers demand.”
