Facebook and Instagram receive brand safety certification
The move follows an independent audit, conducted by ABC, of their advertising processes against Jicwebs’ DTSG Good Practice Principles.
The principles are the standard for brand safety in the UK and aim to reduce the risk of adverts being placed next to inappropriate content. Amazon was awarded the certification in July.
Jon Mew, chief executive of IAB UK, said: “This verification of Facebook and Instagram is significant, offering increased transparency of the platform through a clear report detailing how they reduce the risk of ad misplacement.”
Steve Hatch, vice-president of Northern Europe, Facebook, added: “We support Jicwebs’ robust standards, rigorous verification process and the industry transparency it provides, and are delighted to have achieved DTSG Brand Safety Certification.”
