JD Power cuts Toronto headcount

CANADA— JD Power and Associates has cut the bulk of its staff in Toronto. Research work is being redirected to Singapore and Detroit as part of a broader reorganisation, reports the Toronto Star.

The paper quoted spokesman Peter Marlow as saying that the consumer research company was “trying to get away from creating silos in different parts of the world by shifting to a more unified approach to our research”.

Further details on the reorganisation were unavailable at the time of publication and Marlow would not comment on the scale of staff cuts, but the Toronto Star cited unnamed sources saying 12 of 19 employees had lost their jobs in the city.
