Founded in 1996, MGE Data offers consulting, data analytics, application development and technical tools in mobility, geo-marketing and media research.

Headquartered in Prague, the company operates in several locations in the Czech Republic.

MGE has been Ipsos’ technology partner since 2007, when it was awarded the Route contract for Britain’s out of home audience measurement system.

The deal will bolster Ipsos’ out of home audience measurement and expand its operations to 15 countries including Germany, Austria, Poland, Belgium, Mexico, Chile and the United Arab Emirates.

Australia’s Outdoor Measurement Association (OMA) also recently appointed Ipsos to upgrade its measurement system.

Didier Truchot, chief executive and chairman, Ipsos, said: “The association of Ipsos’ leadership in research with MGE’s advanced spatial data science expertise will bring clients an unparalleled offer in out of home audience measurement”.

David Strnad, chief executive, MGE Data, described the acquisition as “a natural progression” for the company, saying: “Since 2007, our partnership has been a source of success and allowed us to bring together our complementary skills and capabilities across many markets globally.”
