CANADA – The Canadian Research Insights Council has appointed Gary Bennewies, president and chief executive of Ipsos Canada, as its new chair for 2020-21, succeeding Barry Watson.
Bennewies is one of the founders of CRIC and has been a member of the board and treasurer since the organisation was formed in 2018.
Watson, president and chief executive of Environics Research, will continue as a board member.
The board has also appointed Nanos Research founder and chief data scientist Nik Nanos as vice-chair and Jason Zweig, vice-president, Canadian Viewpoint, as treasurer for 2020-21.
Nanos, a CRIC co-founder, has been a member of the board since 2018, and chairs the standards committee, while Zweig was elected to the board in June.
Additionally, Don Mills, Carol Udell and Chuck Chakrapani are retiring as board members.
