US— Hewlett-Packard (HP) has bought Vertica, the developer of a real-time analytics platform used by the likes of media monitoring firm VMS, online video measurement agency Visible Measures and health care data supplier SDI.
HP said the acquisition would add to its capabilities in information optimisation by adding “sophisticated, real-time business analytics for large and complex sets of data in physical, virtual and cloud environments”.
Financial terms were not disclosed and the deal is expected to complete before the end of April, after which Vertica products will be available through HP’s sales and service channels.
