Hirst takes on CEO role at Carat UK amid management reshuffle

UK — Media agency Carat has hired former CEO of Dentsu Aegis creative communications agency mcgarrybowen, Rick Hirst, as its first UK chief executive officer.

This is a newly-created role that will see Hirst report to Tracy De Groose, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network UK and Ireland. He will be supported by former chief client officer Matt Landeman, who has been promoted to managing director, and chief strategic officer Dan Hagen and chief marketing officer Stuart Newman. 

Former Carat MD Matthew Hook has been promoted to another newly-created role of chief strategic officer for Dentsu Aegis Network UK and Ireland. 

"These appointments represent an exciting time for our business and are testament to the ability of our network to help our people build interesting and diverse careers," said De Groose. "The moves strengthen our leadership by bringing fresh new perspectives and expertise to our different agencies and to our clients."

Hirst is expected to take up his new role in the coming months.
