UK— Fifty jobs are at risk in the UK as Harris Interactive announced plans to focus its custom research business in the country on its “core strengths” of financial services, technology, entertainment, media and telecoms.
This suggests that the firm will be scaling back its work in the automotive, business and industrial, consumer goods, retail, healthcare and public sectors – which are currently listed as areas of expertise on its website – but a company spokesman declined to comment beyond a prepared statement.
“By focusing on these key areas, the company will ensure optimal service delivery and innovation for key clients and sectors in the UK,” the statement said.
Harris has two offices in the UK, London and Stockport, and employs 110 full-time staff, 40 part-time staff and “several hundred interviewers”. It had previously decided to reduce its leased office space both in the UK and the US as part of interim CEO Al Angrisani’s “right-sizing” initiative, the first stage in a turnaround plan.
