Google considers political ad policy
Following Twitter’s chief executive Jack Dorsey announcement that the social network will stop showing political ads globally from 22nd November, Facebook has so far continued to accept political ads and said it won’t fact check politicians’ content.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Google has been holding internal meetings and is expected to share more details with its employees this week. There has been some speculation that Google might look at audience targeting allowed for advertisers.
Google’s ad policies are uniform across search and YouTube so any policy change would be reflected across all its platforms, a Google spokesperson said.
